About the Event
This will be a free seafood-themed fair with displays of different fish and shellfish, stands showcasing recent research and information on fish sustainability as well as recipes, refreshments, tasters and talks.
Hear a short talk from the Rowett Institute's Prof Baukje de Roos who was awarded the honorary title of Buckland Professor 2023 for her research into seafood sustainability and nutrients. She will be joined by Jimmy Buchan - a north-east seafood industry big fish famed for his appearance on the BBC's Trawlermen programme - and chef Kenny Smart who specialises in family cooking which he will showcase in a seafood cookery demo. This event is here to prove that fish can be eaten sustainably and cooked simply so are a friend to our diets and our planet.
