Granite City Good Food Receives Recognition in Parliament Again!

The image contains a screenshot of a parliamentary motion submitted by Kevin Stewart MSP on Friday, 09 May 2025.

The full motion reads:
‘That the Parliament notes that the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Bill was passed in 2022 and understands that the Scottish Government’s draft action plan is due to be presented to the Parliament before the end of 2025, with other relevant authorities due to issue their own plans afterwards; understands that the Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), based in Aberdeen Central, is keen to help local authorities and NHS boards in the consultation and production of local Good Food Nation plans; further understands that CFINE, which participates in the Sustainable Food Places Partnership as host partner of Granite City Good Food, is already at the forefront of a whole-systems approach to sustainable food, one of the key priorities of a Good Food Nation, through a whole range of activities and services; believes that CFINE’s extensive experience and involvement in Good Food Nation initiatives, as well as its work with strategic partners such as Aberdeen City Council and NHS Grampian, would be invaluable in helping shape local Good Food Nation plans, and hopes that this wealth of knowledge can be utilised to good use.’

CFINE and Granite City Good Food have been recognised in a parliamentary motion, submitted by Kevin Stewart MSP on Friday 09 May 2025.

The motion recognises CFINE and Granite City Good Food’s proactive approach to supporting partnership around the Good Food Nation in Aberdeen.

The Good Food Nation vision embeds long-term strategic transformation into decision-making around food policy at both the national and local levels. It aims to establish Scotland’s food system as one ‘where people from every walk of life take pride and pleasure in, and benefit from, the food they produce, buy, cook, serve, and eat each day.’
